Join
us for an exciting journey beyond the Blue Mountains to the surrounds
of the town of Mudgee famous for fine wines and local history.
An
early pick up from your Sydney hotel (8:00 am), we leave the city
behind and head west toward the mountains in either one of our tour
vehicles.
A
quick stop at an apple orchard and another to marvel at nature’s handy
work in the mountains, then we arrive at the famous Zig Zag Railway
where you take a journey down to the town of Lithgow. Here we enjoy a
short lunch stop.
We
now head for Mudgee, stopping at Pearson’s Lookout, overlooking the
Capertee Valley (the largest locked valley in the southern hemisphere).
In
Mudgee we’ll stop at one of the many vineyards before heading out to
our night’s accommodation at Acacia Ridge. A hearty dinner will be
prepared while you relax and take in the Australian bush.
Following
a full country breakfast, we travel to the historic town of Hill End
for a look into the area’s past, then on to the village of Sofala, both
famous for Gold during the late 1800’s before returning to Acacia
Ridge. Here you may do a bit of gold panning or yabby fishing while
your dinner is being prepared.
Awake
to the sounds of the Australian bush, smell of freshly brewed coffee
and the sizzling of bacon and eggs. We then board our tour vehicle for
the journey home, stopping in the World Heritage listed Wollemi
National Park for a while, where you are able paddle a canoe or take a
river cruise.
Heading
back over the mountains we have a final stop at the Three Sisters rock
formation before returning to the city where we conclude our tour.
