Here at Southern Cross Safaris
we
have put together some of what we believe are the best short trips in and
around Sydney.
1 Day Bay & Beach.
Tour code (BB)
From your Hotel pick up we
journey around the foreshore of Sydney Harbour heading for the famous Bondi
Beach. Next we head south along the coast to La Parouse on the northern
side of Botany Bay, stopping for morning tea. We then skirt Botany Bay
to arrive at Kurnell, the landing place of Captain James Cook. This is
part of the Botany Bay National Park and we visit the Discovery Center.
Lunch is in the park at one of the many picnic sites. The afternoon we
journey into the sand dunes of Boat Harbour 4 Wheel Drive Park, where we
engage 4WD, for a drive along the beach (optional horse riding on a beach
is available a small additional cost). We spend an hour or so, swimming,
throwing Boomerang or just relaxing. Climb back on board the Bus for an
exciting run through the sand dunes, reaching the top of the last great
dune, looking out over the city and surrounds. This concludes our tour
so it is now time to return to the "Big Smoke", to arrive back your Hotel.
2 Day Blue Mountains.
Tour Code (BM)
After an early pick up from
your Hotel, we head west to Richmond, for morning tea. From here we travel
up the mountains along the Bell's Line of Road, taking a right turn, heading
for the Glow Worm Tunnel and lunch. We board the bus and travel back to
Black Fellow's Hand Trail, where we stop to take in some ancient Aboriginal
rock art. Next stop is at the top of the Wolgan Valley, looking over the
valley 1000' below. Descending to the valley floor we drive to the end
of the road, Newnes, the site of an old shale-mining town, to set camp,
dinner and campfire. After a hearty breakfast we walk around the ruins
then back to camp for lunch. We break camp to head back to civilization,
stopping for afternoon tea at Katoomba, to arrive back at your Hotel.
