Our company was formed in 1999 after almost 30 years in the tourism industry working for other employers. We have traveled some 200,000 kms throughout Australia, and decided it was time to share what is available in this great country of ours with other people.

We will give a fresh approach to outback travel, with NO PRESSURE TOURING. So if you wish to sleep-in that’s ok, if you find a special spot and would like to savor it's secrets that's ok too. Our tours are designed with this in mind, because the last thing you need on holidays is stress.

Our Tour Bus is fully equipped and totally refurbished both mechanically and internally with the latest in luxury appointments. The bus is an International Harvester 4X4, powered by a diesel engine. With 12 forward facing, reclining seats, in air-conditioned comfort and inbuilt kitchen, it comes with the latest in satellite navigation and mapping, 12 stack- CD player, VHF and UHF radio communications. Also provided for your comfort, chilled water and bar fridge so you can keep your beer or wine cold. 

Our other vehicle is a fully imported luxury Chevrolet Suburban powered by a 6.5 litre turbo charged diesel engine. Seating capacity of 6 people or 3 couples in leather and air conditioned comfort. We carry a 40 litre refrigerator as well as a full camp kitchen.

As we are an adventure camping company our tents are the latest design and will take you less than 1 minute to erect. We also provide armchair style camp seats, complete with tinny holder and magazine pocket, cutlery, crockery and personal tray table. We provide three meals per day from our wide and extensive menus. We will also cater for special dietary requirements, provided that these are disclosed at booking. All you will need to provide is a pillow, sleeping bag, insect repellent, hat and a pair of hands to assist with some minor campsite duties, in the bush we all need to work together.

Southern Cross Safaris is a fully licensed and accredited Tour Company under the Department of Transport New South Wales. Our vehicles must undergo rigorous registration inspections every six months and our drivers must undergo a medical examination every twelve months. If any of these inspections are failed our tour license will be revoked. These are the most stringent regulations in Australia.
